I’m not you yet.

Hopefully I’ll reach your point.

Remember when we were 3 and found out our friends didn’t have parents that let them paint on walls and express themselves messily?

When we thought we would paint the world into harmony?

Do you still have those dreams?

Remember when we were 6 and found out that the mean teachers on television weren’t just cartoon villains but existed in real life?

When we thought we would teach the world to love each other?

Do you still have those dreams?

Remember when we were 10 and found out that not all families got along perfectly and the picture perfect families had problems on the inside?

When we thought we would adopt and raise kids the best way possible?

Do you still have those dreams?

Remember when we were my age and thought that dreams were still possible even in the real world?

When we thought we weren’t invincible but still not torn down as easy as some would like?

Do you still have those dreams?

Do you still have these thoughts?

You haven’t given up have you?

Because I don’t think I can look forward to such a dreamless future.
